Activity 01:

I think that the internet is useful for our lives. Firstly, I use the internet to search for any information I need. I think that internet make the world more easy I can connect with my friends and family and I can complete my homework and understand my studies because I watch videos and search on google. But the internet can’t be useful because people can waste time on the phone or computers and it has disadvantages as it influences negatively students who waste time on the internet.

Activity 02:

1. I Played football last week

2. I visited my grandmother in Oran many times last summer.

3. My mother cooked a very delicious dinner

4. I spend my vacation last year in Annaba.

5. My sister feeled sick and she is in the hospital.

Activity 03:

1. The phone is one of the most important inventions because it revolutionized communication, allow people to contact across long distances. Modern smartphones also offer access to the internet, provide informations and services. Phones are helpful for the human being, it saves time and make life easier for people. In addition, people can contact each other without traveling for long time.

2. These inventions have changed the way we live. The telephone makes communication possible and easy. the internet has connected people and information globally. Inventions like cars, bus and airplanes have made travel faster. Medical inventions like vaccines and antibiotics improved public health and increased life expectancy. Also, washing machines and microwaves, have streamlined daily tasks and saves times for people.

Activity 4:

1. People should protect the nature.

2. I must study in order to pass the exam.

3. The students mustn’t cheat in the exam.

4. We shouldn’t eat fast food every day.

Activity 05:

Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are popular among teenagers, the last has positive and negative sides. First, these platforms facilitate communication, helping teenagers to connect with friends and family, and access educational content and in addition, social media help teenagers to see the daily events and news. Second, Social media can expose teenagers unrealistic beauty standards and lead to mental health problems like depression. Also, excessive use can result addiction and make them loose in their academic side and fail in their studies.

Activity 06:

1. The internet has both positive and negative advantages.

2. Algeria has both renewable and non- renewable energies and it contains natural resources.

3. Sarra studies hard so as to pass the exam.

4. She has to study, or she will fail.

5. The trader speaks politely with customers so as to satisfy them.

6. She speaks neither English nor French.

Activity 07:

1. Many people had died before the paramedics arrived.

2. Old people told us that our country already had experienced such a catastrophe.

3. It was the first time that an earthquake of such a magnitude hit our country.

4. People stayed outdoors until the local authorities told them to go back into their homes.

5. The world never known such a disaster before.

6. By the time the fire brigade arrived, our house had burned out.

7. I just had switched on the TV to watch the news when the flood came in.

8. The house which he had built twenty years earlier was on fire.
